In terms of game lore, Balthazar is the god of war. The alliance battles happen because two seperate nations are engaged in a full blown war, not the minor scirmshes of RA and TA or the more structured battles of GvG and HA. So not giving balthazar faction in alliance battles doesn't make sense in terms of game lore.

And I dont want to have to go back to RA or TA in order to get UAX again but with my current guild GvG's are rare, and HA attempts are non-existant and I dont want to change guilds since I do enjoy what we do do as a guild.

Naturally, this would be earned alongside Kurzick/Luxon faction from those same matches

I think they should include a new type of Faction that you earn from doing any PvP arena. Call it Hero Faction to go along with the theme for the Title <Rank Name> Hero. Use Hero's Faction to unlock PvP.

When they institute this, all Balthazar's Faction becomes Hero Faction and Balthazar's Faction starts at 0.

So you want to rename Balthazar faction to something else, then make a new type of faction and call it Balthazar faction ?

If so, it seems that your posts are you trying to support your idea, yet they have no relavance to my idea in the OP. If Balthazar faction gets renamed, then this idea will work with whatever it gets renamed to.

See, I thought they originally said they were gonna allow faction to be used for personal use. I read that as: transfer Kurzick/Luxon faction into Balthazar Faction. And that would've been perfectly fine. Now PvP players are totally screwed over... They can't do anything with the faction they earn in Alliance battles. They can't even get fame. All they do is shift a line on a map they don't even have uncovered back and forth. Pretty thing that line, ain't it? It moooooves.

Now I know, the "personal use" referred to crafting amber/jade. I totally agree that we should be able to use the faction we gain for the Kurzicks or Luxon as Balthazar faction. (Isn't Balthazar the God of War anyway???) The grind is just too big for old shool PvP-ers trying to get their UAX/UAS.

I don't think you should earn two kinds of Faction from one battle.

Either Alliance Faction or PvP unlock Faction. Since you can't take PvP characters to Jade/Aspenwood - they should only give Alliance Faction.

So Dougal, you would prefer people to be forced to do RA/TA/HA (or grind PvE till they find the items they are after) in order to get things unlocked. So if someone only likes the alliance battles, they will be forced to do the others in order to improve how well they do in AB ?

Also, while its still officially called Balthazar faction, please call it that.

I thought the Faction you receive from the Alliance Battles is called Luxon/Kurzick. Ireferred to it as Alliance Faction to cover the two Alliances that you can receive the Faction for, depending on which side of the Alliance Battle you are involved with.

I also thought that currently Balthazar's Faction is only obtainable from PvP for completing the Zaishen challenges, RA/TA/HA. I apologize for calling Balthazar's Faction "PvP unlock Faction" and confusing some people.

I still do not think that any player should earn multiple types of Faction (meaning Luxon/Kurzick or Balthazar's) from Alliance Battles. Let PvP remain on the Battle Isles and the Saltspray Mission (I think it is called). Let PvE characters play their Jade/Aspenwood mission for their chance to affect the political balance of the world they play in. It's just my opinion.

I agree. Its PvP, you should get skill unlocks. Also let PvP-only access jade quarry/fort aspenwood from the guys in your guild hall. Converting it would be a bit odd, since i think you would get less faction from playing a "normal" pvp vs what you get in lux/kurz faction.

Hmm, how about you get both balthazar and luxon/kurzick faction. Per win, i'd say about 300-500 balth faction and the normal luxon/kurzich faction
